Deformities of the face may result from accidents, cancer surgery, or birth defects. They can leave scars deeper than on the surface, so treatments should be started sooner rather than later, when psychological or emotional damage has internalized.

These problems are invariably unique and require individualize treatment to be successful. Once a personal plan has been agreed on, each individual receives the information required to prepare for the procedure.

In these procedures, an attempt is made to replace the deformity with normal skin/tissue and to restore the normal anatomy.
