BOTOX – Cape Cod, Needham, Wareham

Dr. Rheingold in Cape Cod uses BOTOX® Cosmetic to treat wrinkles that are caused by overactive muscles of expression. BOTOX® Cosmetic is a protein derivative of the Botulinum toxin, which is a neurotoxin agent produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. In minute doses, BOTOX® Cosmetic is used to temporarily paralyze the hyperactive facial muscles that produce deep or noticeable wrinkles. In many Cape Cod patients, its effect can last up to 4 months.

The injections are relatively painless, and Dr. Rheingold can administer them himself during a short office visit. Within a day or two, most people notice a disappearance or reduction of the troublesome frown lines or wrinkles. BOTOX® Cosmetic is also being used in Cape Cod to treat the condition of axillary hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating under the arms. Again, it must be re-injected every 4 to 5 months to maintain this beneficial effect.
