FAT INJECTIONS
A common method for improving depressions or deep wrinkles and furrows is the injection of autologous fat. This is a minor surgical procedure in which fat is aspirated or taken from one part of the body such as the lower abdomen and then concentrated and re-injected into another area to improve a visible skin depression or hollow area.
Supposedly, fat injections will be more permanent with less likelihood of absorption. All materials however, whether collagen or autologous fat can be absorbed to some extent. Fat injection are mostly used for minor depressions and are less successful for large depressed contour defects. |
